Watercolor and mixed media on unconventional surfaces: We use QoR watercolor on surfaces you wouldn’t think you could apply watercolor to. We can apply QoR watercolor to metal, wood, mirrors or even plexiglass while still keeping the integrity of the watercolor. We also get to paint on crackle paste and work within the cracks to create a watercolor painting mosaic.

Airbrushing with Golden High Flow and Fluid Acrylics is a beginning course to help you get familiar and learn your way around the airbrush. We will go over all the mechanisms of an airbrush and compressor, proper holding and also learn how to chose the right air pressure on your compressor for different approaches and applications. After going over the basics of airbrushing we will begin to make a composition together and try a variety of techniques, make our own stencils and try some experiments, trouble shooting and use a variety of materials to make some interesting patterns . After this class you will have a better understanding of airbrushing and learn ways to utilize it in your artwork. Acrylics A-Z: Have you ever gone to your local art store and looked at all the GOLDEN products and wondered what some of it does, how you can use it or how could some of these products push your artwork further? The Acrylic A-Z workshop is a more in-depth look into working with the variety of paints, grounds, gels, mediums, and pastes. This is a two-day class where we will make 10 paintings using over 30 different products that GOLDEN has to offer. You will walk away with a better understanding of the variety of what GOLDEN products can do and how you can use them in your own artwork.

Abstraction Expression and mark making: With this workshop, the sky’s the limit. You really can’t mess this up. We get to experiment with some Williamsburg Oil Paint Cold Wax, Golden Heavy Body Acrylic, Golden OPEN Acrylic, Golden Fluid and some Golden Gels to top it all off. We can even create a Cold wax and Encaustic finish. This is a expressive art and mark making class with so many different end results that you will just dive in and go for it. Other tools we will use is charcoal, pencil, rubber shapers, palette knives, and etc.All you need to bring is yourself and a willingness to have fun and experiment.

Airbrushing and High Flow Acrylics will be a demonstration that will help you understand how to make decisions on purchasing the right airbrush for the work you want to do. I will discuss the mechanisms of the airbrush, choosing the right compressor, what kind of paints to use, show techniques, using stencils and masking, discussing safety and most importantly cleaning your airbrush. I will also discuss different surfaces you can use to airbrush on and show what surfaces you can even prep .I will show you how to use High Flow, Fluid and Airbrush mediums from Golden Paints. Finally I will discuss what extra accessories you may need to have a great airbrushing experience.

Gel Plates and OPEN acrylic Mono-printmaking: Using OPEN Acrylic paint on Gel Plates to make unique monograph prints. Once you start the fun won't stop. We will use a variety of techniques with stencils, scrapers and shapers or just making it as you go to make a great monoprint.OPEN Acrylic is a slow drying acrylic that gives you more opportunities to work with acrylic such as blending and using it as a printmaking ink.
